Engineering Physics Student | Space Enthusiast | Artist
My name is Sobia Nadeem and I am a fourth year Engineering Physics student with a specialization in Nano-Photonics at McMaster University. I am completing a 16-month internship at Sinclair Interplanetary by Rocket Lab, a prominent spacecraft's part manufacturing company.
Outside of my studies and internship, I devote my time to space related extracurriculars. I am the Director of Outreach for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS)-Canada, a national student-led not-for-profit space outreach organization, having served as the organization's for two years prior. I am the Team Lead of the McMaster Experimental Reduced Gravity Team (MERGE), a student led research initiative, having published our team's research at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in 2021.
I was President of the McMaster Planetary Society from 2019-2020 and Co-President from 2020-2021. I organized McMaster’s first Space week, as well as co-organized the Ascension space conference with SEDS-Canada in early 2020. I was a member of the Electrical Power System team on McMaster NEUDOSE which is a part of the Canadian CubeSat Project (CCP) with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).
